Isolation today sure isn't like isolation when I was young! I was in isolation once as a child... (I think because I had the chicken pox) Back then I had probably 7 channels on TV and they did not run 24 hours a day! at night the American Flag would come on and the national Anthem was played and the TV then went to snow (That's right TV went off the air!) If I wanted to call my grandparents I couldn't see them and it was long distance and very expensive extra charges for calling. The list goes on and on of things we couldn't do that are now readily available! Thank Goodness! My grand daughters have been facetiming me so I can see them and talk to them! YAY! I had a doctor's appointment that was a video conference! My doctor typed in new prescriptions on the computer to my pharmacy. (No one had to pick up a paper prescription and take it to the pharmacy.) I paid for the meds with an app on my phone! Technology is amazing! I am so lucky to be in isolation now instead of back then! My favorite podcasters are recording the podcasts with members of the podcasts in different cities and even states and they are right on time with their weekly schedule! I can still sing goofy songs and go outside and scream on the deck when I am feeling a little stir crazy! (That way everyone knows I am still me!) There is one thing that is a little scary... I opened my last 30 roll pack of toilet paper today! I might have to panic about that I am pretty sure that 30 rolls will not last 3 months! I may have to send up an emergency flare to let people know we need rescuing!!! LOL
